A complete Sophos firewall rebuild with high availability.
A legacy Sophos UTM environment was rebuilt on a new XGS high-availability pair. The project required understanding and mapping the existing behavior, not simply restoring the old configuration to new hardware.

The existing firewall environment included network interfaces, segments, objects, policies, services, routes, and VPN dependencies. The replacement needed to account for the access those settings supported.
Configuration review and comparison were part of the migration work, with attention to differences between the source and replacement platforms.
What Jaen worked through
The project combined the new HA setup with rebuilding and mapping the configuration, comparing the old and new settings, and addressing connectivity and legacy-service requirements.
Some dependencies were not just firewall features. Existing devices and their expected communication paths also had to be considered as the environment moved.
A rebuild, not a routine swap
The engineering extended from the migration plan into the configuration and service checks around the deployment. It is a useful example of Sophos work beyond everyday administration.
